Infra red sensor covers?
Anyone have a source for the oval shaped infra red sensor covers up in the dome light area? I have a missing one and the other is very loose. Thanks!

They pop up on ebay pretty regularly. $2 to $15. I picked up one, and still waiting to see another cheap one ($8 + $6 shipping seems a bit much to me for what it is, but I haven't had them since I got the car, so meh).

I probably have some from stripping two boxsters for spec racers. I'm crazy this week finishing the car, but send me a PM next week as a reminder and I'll dig through the boxes.

Thanks Wayne, Took me a while to find the part number in the catalog but I've got a set ordered. Plus it gives me an excuse to order up some other goodies too

What did you find them under, as I am not having any luck at all? Electrical, Alarm, interior, trim, lights, I am not having any luck. Same with name searches.

$4.75 from Pelican- part number 996-618-212-02
I just replaced both of mine. One popped out while accelerating. I searched high and low couldn't find the damn thing.
Ordered two from our host and replaced the missing cover and the remaining one with the new ones. I think over time the clips must wear because the new sensors fit right in snugly and don't have any play like the old covers did. In fact, one of them was held in place with a piece of folded up paper. $4.75 from our host part number 996-618-212-02 The ones I've seen on Ebay are used, not worth the chance of buying one with stressed or broken clips.
