'97 Boxster top mechanism

Have a chance to buy a '97 for $7200. 95k miles, with a broken top. Owner says pivots are bent. Is it worth it to fix? Car is in above average condition, with tiptronic.

Lots of take-off tops from spec Boxsters available for a few hundred bucks (I've got one off of a 62k mile '97). Very easy to remove and replace the top.

Whatever the seller is asking.....back out $400 - $500 and get a new top.

Boxster top

Top top material is ok. It's the mechanism that won't operate fully. Pivots are bent.

I have all the top mechanism parts from my 99 Boxster that was turned into a spec Boxster. Let me know if you're interested in any of them.

Boxster mechanism repair

Thanks. This is the info I needed to decide to keep away from this car! Someone that is mechanically inclined could fix this.
