Cost of Air Oil Separator replacement at dealer
Hi gang:
Living in Houston now, where the Porsche dealers charge even more for things than the California dealers! How about $220 for a Boxster oil change versus $140 in California? Anyway my check engine light went on and after a few days a LOT of smoke would come out of the Boxster, so I took it to a dealer. Air Oil Separator: $170.79 Labor $725.95 Sigh. Well at least they washed the Porsche, which it badly needed. |

Ouch! Not an unheard of price from the dealership though. You might consider trying to get recommendations on indy shops in your are by posting on this and other forums.
Best of luck! |

Okay, anyone else have an AOS go out, pay for my gas/lunch and I'll come out and help you fix it yourself. It'll be a LOT cheaper than $795.
In fact, you'll even save money on the part, as it's only $130 from the sponsor of our forum. |

Hopefully the labor included removing intake manifold for cleaning the oil out of it since it was bad enough to lite the CEL.

Paying for the gas part. Not the "it'll be cheaper than $795," part.
