Boxster Left Foot Rest

On my 2001 Boxster with Tip I have a hard time fitting my left leg prosthesis between the seat and the left foot rest. I have removed the 1/4" thick foot rest cover and put a aluminum plate in it's place, but my artificial left leg is still cramped. Does anyone know if the raised footrest can be removed from the floorboard without major bodywork?

Thanks,
flsibm

I went out to the car and tried to lift the carpets to see if the thing might be bolted in. I think its molded in as the edges are rounded at the floor board (Don't you just love that........floor...BOARD. Definatley from the olden days. I know, it's true, 911s and 914s have floor boards)

Back on topic, it's gonna take more examination than I can do. I thought I could hekp, but I can't, sorry.
