I just replaced the AOS on my 37K miles 03 Boxster S because it had the tell-tale symptoms described in this forum. Anyway, the high-pitched screeching sound is gone confirmed by the tear in the diaphragm. However, the car won't stop smoking like a choo choo train. Also, the CEL is on. Any ideas? Thanks

The smoking may be cause by residual oil in the exhaust from the AOS failure. It can sometimes take a good drive and heat to burn the oil out. The only way to tell is drive it and see if the smoke disipates. The check engine light is most probably caused by oil contamination of the oxygen sensors.
