Large Bumper Plug Holes
I took the front plate off of my 2001 Boxter and was a little surprised at the large size of the holes made in the bumper for the plate mounts. In my mercedes the holes were pretty small like little screw holes and I was able to buy plugs from autozone and paint them to match the car. With the boxter the plug holes are square and measure about 9/32" which I am wondering if that is normal for porsche? Or did the dealership take it upon their own to ruin my bumper? Also, if anyone has had holes this large what did you do to plug them?

Hey,
I believe this is the place I got my bumper plugs and a door lock plug. They looked great and were a perfect paint match. https://www.bumperplugs.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=1_11_113&product_id=71 Jeff |

Ace Hardware usually has a broad assortment of plastic plugs. You can buy several for a few bucks and see which works best. Then paint them with automotive touch up paint.

You can get what I believe are the factory plugs for these holes by ordering part# OEM-99670181100G2X from Pelican Parts.
They come painted with a gray primer and you'll need to paint them to match your bumper. These plugs are very low profile and once painted will blend right into the bumper. Hope this helps anyone else searching for plugs to fill those holes! |

Just a follow up to my previous post - here's a photo of the plugs I mentioned. I just painted them Speed Yellow using the Porsche touch-up paint shown. I plan to let them dry for a day before installing them into my bumper.
