2003 Boxster Emergency Trunk Release
HELP...
I'm tearing my hair out trying to locate the emergency release cable for a Right Hand Drive Boxster 2003. I looked under both driver (right hand side when sitting in car) and passenger (left hand side when sitting in car) wheel well cover, but just can't see it. Can anyone definitively confirm which side it is located on a RHD UK car, and maybe a description of exactly where it is on a 2003 Boxster. The battery is completely dead and the key fob has become deregistered from the alarm due to non-use so the 'connect a 12V battery to the fuse box trunk release' option won't work as the alarm goes off as soon as the connection is made and can't then be cancelled as the key fob won't work. I would be very thankful for any help with this. SJS |

I don't drive mine much, so when I park in garage, I pop the hood latch before getting out. Just makes it a lot easier if battery goes down. Just remember latch hood before driving.
I use a battery charger at the fuse box. - at door striker + at fuse box pull out. Last edited by hbbrewer; 12-03-2013 at 05:20 PM.. |

Thanks MikeFocke,
I have bought a Cigarette lighter to cigarette lighter charger unit to charge the Boxster battery by connecting to my girlfriend's car. Do I need the key in the ignition (of the Boxster) and turned one stop whilst charging? Some car cigarette lighters won't operate unless the key is in, and I can't remember if this is the case with the Boxster. Thanks, Stewart |
