RMS Question

I recently had the RMS replaced on my '01 Boxster. Soon after, I experienced a "no start" scenario which I ultimately concluded was the Crankshaft Position Sensor. The sensor was chewed-up, allegedly from a loose flywheel. The replaced sensor was also chewed up in about 2 minutes of restarting the engine. I brought it bace to the mechanic who replaced the RMS thinking that he likely didn't replace the flywheel bolts when he replaced the RMS. He broke down the engine to isolate the issue and presumably replace the flywheel bolts, but ultimately told me that the flywheel bolts where fine, but that the bolts holding the torque converter to the flywheel were loose and needed to be replaced. Because he concluded it was actually unrelated to his replacement of the RMS, he is again charging me (albeit much less) labor for this repair.

Any thoughts?

Yeah, you got stiffed.

The CPs reads shutter teeth on the backside of the flywheel, so it has nothing to do with the torque converter bolts. That said, because your mechanic had to take out the torque converter bolts to remove the Tip before even getting to the flywheel, he is also responsible for them being loose. No matter how you look at this one, the mechanic that did the RMS is responsible.

JFP Nailed it. I'd show him this picture, and ask how do you get to the RMS and Flywheel bolts without taking out the converter bolts?
