Great site! So glad I found you. Looking hard at 2003 Boxster S with 64000 miles. At dealer. Salesman says I think I got this right that "previous owner had aftermarket IMS performed" so I should have no related concerns. Thoughts on this, or anything else? Traveling tomorrow to look / possibly purchase. Much thanks...

I would have a pre purchase inspection performed. This can help identify any needed items.

A car I saw that had it done had an IMS sticker next to the VIN sticker on the car.
If not, ???? Never, never, never, ever, ever, ever believe a car salesman. As the saying goes... if there is no documentation, it did not happen. Similar sticker on this car ad on eBay: Last edited by tcar; 12-14-2015 at 07:56 AM.. |

If you are handy with a wrench install the proper kit. ( IMS ) AFIAC this is mandatory as it is much more cheaper than a failure .
Look at Youtube, many videos on it .
