Hopefully Simple Door Handle Question
I've had a boxster for about 4+ years now. Since day 1, when I open the door from either the outside or the inside, I have to sort have a double action on the door handle. No other vehicle I have even tried requires this.
Is this normal? Does it imply a certain issue? |

Is this because the car locks the doors itself once inside the cabin....for safety? I have a Cayman and if I manually lock it from inside with the dash switch you have to double action the door handle to exit the cabin.

Great, thanks for response. Frankly, I have never locked the vehicle other than from the remote. Is there a way to disable the auto locking feature? Additionally, is there a button on the inside that unlocks the doors assuming it does autolock? I have 01 S. I vaguely recall a button that look like a key with an red LED. Im not at the car at the moment. is this the switch for the door locks?

Yes, My 2012 Cayman has a picture of a key above the sat nav and below the hazard warning switch in the middle of the dash.
Can you disable via your in built computer system using the left hand side lever off the steering wheel column which shows up info on the dash? Suggest you look at the service/manual books supplied via Porsche. Hope this helps? |
