Thumbs up Pics - Tech Night in Calgary...

Hi everyone,
Here are some pictures I took during the tech night in Calgary hosted by Marc B. - Alpine Autowerks.

Thanks Marc!

This is what happen when a horse on HW1 meets a Porsche, according to Marc this car is on the edge but it is possible to save it, BTW the driver is Ok

Two more shots of the close encounter with a horse

Then some beauties....

The stars of the show..
Marc:

Answering all questions and giving some tips for winter...

Peter:

Doing the valve work....
Every time he reached for that small lamp there was a new problem on that 79' motor that was leaking from the crank shaft (*I think)

Absolutely great, informative evening. Sympathies are extended to Bob James (Stealthn) for the new problems discovered with his 3 litre engine during the valve adjustment demo. Nothing Marc and Peter can't cure, I'm sure.

Thanks very much to Bob, Marc and Peter for putting this event together!

Yes thanks to everyone who attended. I think it was good, but I was also hoping for more subjects. I will talk to Marc about having more in the future.

And thanks for the sympathies Ken, I'm not too bummed (it is almost a 25 year old car) until I see the bill. (Oh well only one child goes to University )

Two issues were found, a plug missing on the crank shaft where it connects to the tranny. This one could be painful, as it could mean yanking the crank, which means splitting the case. If I have alot of money I'd go to a 3.2 displacement change and better cams, but alas I'm dreaming.
The other issue was corrosion on the drivers side cam on the exhaust side. I told them to take it out and give me an appraisal for weld/regrind. (Cross fingers and collective Zen here), otherwise it's look for a used one...expensive.
The other option if grinding is doable, is going to a 964 grind to change the repsonse in the throttle band, but I'll be happy to stay with stock.

More functions to come....
