Dyno Day in Calgary

Since no one else posted I thought I would. The Wild Rose Region PCA held a Dyno Day at Concept-1 in Calgary. It was a great day, beautiful weather, a bar-b-q, and some really nice cars and people.
I'm not sure who exactly set it up, but it was a fantastic time!

Here are some picture, but some of them don't do the cars justice. I was there for a few hours, but stuck around to see Gord's, 86 Euro 930 pull 268HP (wheels). I'm sure there were higher numbers from someone (a BMW 3 had a corvette engine in it), but I had to go.

I didn't dyno mine because it's fairly stock, and another 79 SC got it's base numbers so I'll use those (164HP) and dyno my car next year after SSI's and a sport muffler.

Maybe someone will post all the final numbers....

Nice pics Bob - agreed, it was plenty-o-fun. On top of Gord's always sweet 930, there were some awfully nice looking cars, (including a concours 944) in attendance.

Interesting dyno outcome on that white 993 (pic 3) for all of us that have been lusting after one. A quick K & N filter swap for the factory media (same cup-type topless airbox) supposedly gave up an additional four or five horses. I'm still sceptical, but maybe I'm just jealous after recently swapping out a MAF & K & N for a factory set-up on my own car.

In any event, the 993 was making Carrera-ish HP numbers - so something was amiss with either the car of the dyno for those particular runs.

Hopefully someone will post all the dyno numbers (Eric?) or they will appear on the PCA Wildrose site. If so, I'll try to drag them over here.

With my carrera I saw 196 HP. That's with a sport Dansk and euro-premuffler (no cat) and with the fifth iteration of a Steve Wong chip. Steve keeps sending me chips and I keep running LM-1 logs, trying to get closer and closer to that magical 12.9/13.0 AFR.

196 sounds like about 218hp flywheel, or 4 more than the factory number. That difference seemed to hold water in looking at another 3.2 car that dynoed at 191 with the factory chip. All in all, not much difference, probably just as well to stay with the factory set-up.

Great day!
