ATTn Calgary Pelicanites - Solo 2 this Saturday at Racecity
The Calagry Sports Car Club is looking into holding a Solo II this Saturday, October 9th. at RCS using the Southend of the Roadcourse. This will be similar to the events hosted by WRR of PCA except with the additions of cones on the front straight (a true solo course). All is welcome. If you're interested, please post here. Tentative time is 10:00am - 4:00PM and cost will be between $40 - $50 depending on turn out (we need 40 participants to break even). There is a meeting tonight to determine if this is a go. I will post back after the meeting. This maybe your last chance to exercise your car before winter..

I'd love to go if I don't have to go to Red Deer to try to sell my bimmer. Do you have to be a member of the SCCA?

Well, the event is a go and it's open to anyone...no club affiliation is necessary....just a car in good machanical condition and a Snell 90 helmet. Your car will be teched.....

I had my stupid wisdom teeth pulled friday morning. If I had known about this, I would have delayed it. Ugh. Oh well, looks like I missed the last event of the season =(

Fear not Zero10, we have another event planned for next Sunday, October 17th. if the weather cooperates and there is enough interest...
 We had a good turnout on Saturday with about 33 cars...lots of fun was had by all.... Will post as we get closer to the next date...

Sweet! I'll be sure to watch for the posts about it.
I bet I'll be feeling better by then. I went to the last Beyond track day, I figured it would be the last of the season, good to know I'll still make one more =) What kind of cars were out there? Was it mostly porsche's? The last track day I went to, I had the slowest car, I was running with some turbo rex's, a BMW with a V8 in it, some 996's and a ferarri.

This wasn't a lapping day but a Solo 2 event using just the southend of the roadcourse....There was a variety of cars out from Formula 2000's to a Dodge Dakota Truck !!!
I was the only Porsche there this time as my buddy with a very well prepared SC had to work and couldn't make it. My reasons for posting here is to try to incourage more Porsche guys/gals to come out to these events...This is a Great way to learn car handling dynamics and to see what your car is capable of in a safe and controlled environment and there are alot of experienced people there to help you if you're new to this....all you have to do is ask, we're a friendly bunch...  We already have some Pelicanites running in Solo 1 (Full Roadcourse, no cones) and there were 6 Porsches this past season. Here's a link to some photos that were taken on Saturday. Yes it looked like a good course, I showed up to watch for a few minutes, but I had a sick child at home so I didn't feel it was fair to the wife to take the day off to race.
Next Sunday would be awesome if the weather's nice. I sure hope I can make it. Then at least there'll be two 911's there Are the times posted anywhere?

Rather late notice, but tomorrow (october 30th) there will be a solo 2 event, held by the calgary sports car club. The event starts at 9:00AM.
