Pelican get-together in Kelowna in spring? anyone interested?

Saturday, May 17, 7pm until ?, at the Starbucks in Chapters Bookstore in Orchard Park Mall. nice empty parking lot as mall is closed but Starbucks/Chapters open till ten. Orchard Park is the big mall in the middle of Kelowna on the east side of the main drag ( Harvey Ave. ) between Cooper Rd. and Dilworth Dr. I'll be there rain or shine and hope to see as many of you as possible.

on the map Knox Mtn. is in the upper left and Orchard Park is lower center.

http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=kelowna&ie=UTF8&ll=49.89 7841,-119.451771&spn=0.063028,0.138016&z=13

thinking it's time to get us interior (and coastal welcome of course) pelicans together. I'm thinking Kelowna. it's looking like the May long will work best for all. Kelowna is central and easy highway access from most of the interior, Knox mtn hill climb runs that weekend as well. any thoughts/interest?

I'll be pm'ing all the pelicans I know around here. please post if you're game. suggestions welcome. Don.

I think it would be Great if the Alberta and BC guys come out to support the Porsche guys that are running Knox Mountain...Last year there were 3 running...I know that at least 2 will be there from Calgary and we're working on getting a few more out to take on the hill...

Porsches at Knox 2007

Here are pictures of the Porsches at Knox last year...

My buddy from Calgary...

One from BC...

One from the US...

Not a Porsche, but a Beautiful Real Rawlson Can-Am car...

And the King of the Hill, Porsche powered TUI Supervee...

Hope that wets your appetite...

knox mountain is fun. where else can you see a porsche, go-cart, 4X4 pick-up, can-am car, camaro, datsun 510, formula vee, sunbeam tiger, MGA, MGB, tuner car, RX-7, lotus elan, etc...... all go up the hill one after the other! if you walk up to one of the upper corners you NEVER know what's coming next! a few vids.

The coast guys are targeting Saturday.

We are making this a 1 day trip. Because of this, wanted Saturday if it turns into a long day. The old farts (like me) need to rest up before heading back to work on Monday.

Just suggestions here.....

Can we do something for Saturday lunch?? Or - an earlier dinner get together??

Let's see what we can make happen - should be lots of fun.

I went there in '06.
I left booking the hotel to late, the only one we could get in was full of loud drunk "kids". It's traditionally a party weekend.
So book early!!

Ps. If anyone has some pull with the organising club, perhaps they can get some parking spots reserved?

Always good to get a bunch of Porsche people together!
Is there a particular hotel that is a favorite? I've been to the OK Grand several times, but it is a bit on the pricey side.
I'm gonna try to clear up my schedule and get down there. May long is 17th-19th this year, right? I know I have to be back to work on tues, but I guess everybody else does too ( hi again, Charlie V!)
