Guenthers creek

I love that creek, It needs an old garden chair in the middle and I could plant my self on it and enjoy the view.
Guenther don't tell the world how nice the Kooteney lake area is. Shushwap is over crowded and polluted with all those water crafts. The shoreline is build up with houses cabins and septic fields running into the lake.

Cool

Fritz:
Power boats, watercrafts, house boats and effluent discharge have no effect on water quality in the Shuswap or any other Lake.

Rob:
Pictures look very inviting but don't drink the water right out of the Lake.

Giardia and Cryptosporidium and other bad stuff is on the increase because of continued abuse of water by Humans.
Sadly, there is no effective protection for Water in Canada.

No need to be condescending; people can have different opinions.

Fritz is just facing the reality of too much development around lakes in the Okanagon. I wonder what your Grand Father would say about this.

Lakes are part of a life-support system, not playgrounds.
I've had my share of drunks on powerboats, watercrafts and houseboats and prefer the quiet of remote lakes without the sounds of motors and/or Yahoos.

How much development can an area take before it turns into Coney Island?
I have never seen any Real Estate Board, or any Realtor in any area of Canada support sustainable development; it's sales figures that count.

The current economic crisis is nothing compared to the ecological disaster looming on the horizon.
I am always amazed how people with kids ignore the facts about environmental devastation and act like there is actually a trouble-free future ahead.

More gadgets, electronic toys, power toys, fun and games..................
Never mind Climate Change, let's go shopping.

Of course, we're all guilty by varying degrees; I just think it's alright to have a reality-check now and then.

Glad you saw the light and deleted the silly stuff from your last post.
I couldn't believe your orininal rant included in my E-mail notification from Pelican.

People do have different opinions and if you consider that an attitude, so be it.

Nice pictures; best wishes.

Yeah, Life's too good to let someone on the internet get your goat.

If a person has to attack someones vehicle choice, place of residence or career in a 'post a warm pic' thread and then call that an opinion, well so be it as you say?

I wonder how the conversation would go if we were eyeball to eyeball; that's how we use to do it in the good 'ol days. Hope you guys aren't turning into grumpy old men? Life's too good to be miserable!

Now go on your way and hug a tree or something..... and try and drive a little safer in 2009.

Cool Hot and Sunny Baby; Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout!

As a properly trained Pelican, better post a picture to stay on topic....
Cheers!

Not sure if the snow is still flying there but it certainly is in Minnesota. If I had my cabo pics at work I would add one.

The snow continues to come down and it is COLD!!! Should be an interesting drive home from work. Tons of accidents on the roads already & low visibility.

Thanks for posting all these great pictures! I enjoyed seeing them as the last hour of the work ticks away before I have to go out & uncover my volvo buried in snow. S~

What attack? I was stating facts about overdevelopment of Lakes in the Okanagon and you called that having an 'attitude'. Does Statistics Canada also have an 'attitude' for stating facts? [/B]

I wonder how the conversation would go if we were eyeball to eyeball; that's how we use to do it in the good 'ol days.

That's more like it; if someone doesn't agree with your views, get agressive

Now go on your way and hug a tree or something.

Not many trees left to hug; only 6 % of old-growth left. The forests have been decimated by multi-national corporations that have no disappeared leaving the forest industry in shambles; no more jobs and the best trees are gone; it's sad
Those are statistical facts coming from the Ministry of Forests, not just my 'attitude'. By all means, leave a large ecological footprint and avoid reality.

Can anyone guess what this picture is?

Would you guys LIGHTEN UP!

Take it to off topics so everyone can bash each other geez.

The idea is to give us a warm happy thought and scenes while were are in the bleak part of winter NOT to start an ecological debate about where we live and how we're trashing this planet.

No Porsche owner has a right to a holier than thou attitude, now if you'll excuse me I have 11 liters of bad oil to pour down the storm drain.

No kidding...although it has been rather humorous to see these two go at each other while trying to stay civilized. I've hung around for the laugh.

The Cole's Notes version:
My lake is better than your lake!
Nuh uh.
Uh.
Nuh.

To those who are 'discussing' who's lake is better...do you guys even have winter/snow where you live?
