Any recommendations for a Transporter
Looking for a car transporter from BC to Quebec (Train or truck)? Any leads would be great.
PS: if ever you have an idea on how much one should pay. Cheers!

I would say 3 days of driving, but I am sure you thought of that.
I don't know ant company names but I know it was about $1200 8 years ago to ship my car from Alberta to NB, and that was not an enclosed trailer. Depending on what you are shipping I would strongly consider enclosed

'just shipped a car from Alberta to Toronto using quikasair dot ca. Fantastic door to door service. I wasn't there to receive the car but my folks said the truck driver who dropped the vehicle off was very friendly. Easy process. $1200 taxes in.

Hi,
I shipped my vehicle from Toronto to Calgary with J. Simons Fast Vehicle Rail Transportation and I was thrilled with the service, and how fast my vehicle got there. I recieved the best customer service, who were friendly, and helpful and answered all my questions. They updated me every step of the way and I had no worries. If your looking for a great company (you can verify them with cp rail), J. Simons is for you http://www.fasttracks.net/ |

I've ended up moving cars across the country several times in the past few years - a total of 8 car/trips.
I did quite a bit of research into shipping cars in Canada, and was distressed to see that many of the so called "shippers" are actually only brokers. Also, when your car is shipped rail it usually transferred from truck to train or train to truck at least once , and may be transferred again in between. I would be very concerned who is driving your vehicle at these times. Every time, the shipper I used was Thorsons Enclosed Vehicle Transport. They only use their own enclosed car carriers, and are very fast and reliable. All of the drivers I have encountered were professional and friendly, and many of their drivers are long-timers which is good to see in this business. Until recently, they were only word-of-mouth and had no advertising (or phone listing, for that matter) but have been around quite some time. I believe they do a lot of carriage for Porsche Canada, Subaru, and Honda. Most of the time, the trailer is filled with exotic and antique cars - I've seen Lambos, Ferraris, Bentleys, and many Porsches when they drop my cars off. As far as I am aware, they do their best to minimize any loading/unloading, and trans-ship only if necessary in Toronto. I have no interest in this company, but am always happy to support a good business. If you contact them, tell Andy or Dave that Ayan from Ottawa recommended you! Cheers, Ayan
