motor delivered
OK guys, my 3.4 has arrived. No problems, quick delivery. It was picked up in Fla. on Wed. and I had it here in On. the next Mon. Very easy transaction. Saved a ton on declared value/duty. It was well worth the $80 cost of the customs broker, vs having to pick it up at the UPS store, and bring across the boarder myself. cheers Philip

Philip, just post for help and I'm sure you'll get it - beer and pizza is a good modivator as well. Is this a stock motor? Take a bunch of pic's if you do it yorself cause I'm going to be dropping my 3.3 in the 87 sometime and have never done it so I'd be real interested in seeing and hearing about the job.

Here ya go JJ. Finn, I'm just south of Ottawa, close to the St. Lawrence River. I wouldn't be intimidated to do a engine swap, but this one has lots of goodies and$$$. 3.4, 8:1, dual plug, extreme heads, JE pistons, RUFF barrels, custom distributer, SC cams, Euro fuel lines/injecters ,Modified fuel head+++.

duties paid
Well guys, I received the invoice/receipt from the customs broker for duties paid. The damage wasn't too bad. GST @14 % on the whole declared value, and duty only on the block (6%), as loose parts were claimed under NAFTA. So around $200 in duties for the amount I claimed, which is a drop in the bucket. So total cost at the toll booth was just over 20 % of declared value, including brokerage fee. Hope this helps others calculate there costs. I'm on the fence about reclaiming duty, but may try as principle. Philip

pick that up. It's all done in GST on the invoice, with the exception of $14 HST !
