Spring has sprung

Slapped 7 months of insurance on her and drove for 2 hours last evening.

She ran just fantastic, started up right away and didn't stall once.

I made a promise to myself to drive her a lot more than the 1,000km that I drove her last summer.

I understand Vancouver is colder than most of southern Canada.

Drive her all yesterday to go golfing and then to pickup the wife from the airport.

When I was driving home I came across a beautiful dark red 911 SC driving up Gaglardi Way in Burnaby. Absolutely stunning car.

Here is a crappy cell phone picture from the park right at the end of the runway by the airport.

I don't do a lot of PCA-CWR stuff but I don't recall ever seeing that car.

The colour was like a crimson red with a beige interior.

It was in pristine shape.

Yep, Charlie's is Rosewood, hence the nickname Rosie, and she's an SC Targa.

A couple of more pictures from that amazing day.

Looks like things are returning to normal here with a couple of weeks of rain predicted.

Thanks Jim.

I've looked at some of your pictures and I just wish I had the skill set that you have to work on these Porsches.

Was out driving last Sunday afternoon.

A nice black SC flashed hello to me as he/she was heading east on Lougheed by Boundary.

Also was stopped at a red light beside a beautiful white 997 Turbo. I looked over to give him the thumbs up but he was just staring straight ahead.

I guess my old 964 isn't in the same league as his new 997.

I know I'm generalizing but I have noticed that I get a lot more flashes, waves or thumbs up from other owners of older (classic) cars vs. the ones driving the newer ones.

There is a guy with a fantastic white 60's Ford Mustang and he always give me a wave when we come across each other.

No they don't. The secret society has been disbanded with the mass production of Porsche vehicles.

I have been out in the 911 almost as much in the first few weeks leading up to the driving season (200km) than I did all of last season with the cars. I waved at a few 944's, air cooled 911's and even a 914. 100% wave back.....i don't even bother with the water cooled cars.
