Plus the volume of traffic in the Edm. area is not as great as the Lower Mainland. But I do look forward to spring!:)

I know all about west coast greasy snow. I grew up on the north coast where we had Vancouver type snow but way more of it. Fun to learn to drive in that stuff...

Then there's the times when you realize you really shouldn't be on the road when you see a car sliding sideways down the slope of an onramp with no forward movement. Or your co-worker's truck sliding across the parking lot without him even being in it an hour after he got to work.

Just heard on the news an interview with the City of Vancouver works yard manager his areas of priority ... bus routes, major streets and BIKE LANES.

Yes bike lanes are going to get sanded and plowed but not the side streets.

Of course this is a direct command from the moron mayor of Vancouver.

I hope the idiots that continue to vote for him and his councillors into power gets stuck while they look across at the nicely plowed bike lanes!

What a great mayor of Vancouver. Ficking shame we have him as a mayor.

Had to visit a client out in Annacis Island yesterday.

Love sitting behind all those drivers that do not believe in snow tires as we go up a slight hill.

All season tires do not equal snow tires when driving in the snow.

How hard is it to get a second set of snow tires.

Go to dealer. Purchase rims and tires. Have them take off the summer tires and put into storage. Leave dealer with nice snow tires.

When spring comes go to dealer and repeat.

Cost is only $250 per year.

Cheap compared to the cost of lost billable hours.

Same for bicycles.

Put those snow tires on, guys. :)

Confirmed by another interview tonights on Global news 3 of the city's trucks devoted solely to bike lanes.

Surely even the most ardent of bike supporters must agree this is rediculous.

The reports specifically asked if the if the priority was directed straight from city hall and the city yard manager agreed.

Just wished the news channels had the balls to interview the mayor and ask him why bike lanes should have such priority.

Please someone put a bullet in that morons head.

Well you may have a have an admin. govt. that wants u to be super healthy. Park your P car or commuter and take up biking to work! You could become another Amsterdam!.

I must admit that walking in downtown Vancouver I cannot smell exhaust fumes at all. In Alberta there are no emissions testing, so many vehicles are old and stinky.

I understand both points of view. There is hope.Tomorrow is the shortest day of the year. :)

Duh..........Another great thinker and Intellectual with leadership potential having a brain-fart and a brilliant approach for conflict resolution. But, why just the Mayor? Blast any of those pesky cyclists being in the way of micro-brain, lead-foot, motor-morons. :(

You'd fit in nicely with the gun-mentality across the border: Bible in one hand and assault rifle in the other; Praise the Lord and send in the troops.

Sorry, Plato, hopefully just an isolated Human development arrest.

Gunter. I'm just a blue collar grunt. if you're going to keep writing posts like this, could you at least dumb them down a little so those of us not conversant with philosophy can understand what you're talking about http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/read.gif

Sorry guys.

I just had to throw that last comment in cause I knew Gunter would take the bait.

And he sure bit hard on it.

I have this bad bad habit of wanting to goat on guys like him.

:D

Pretty lame but.....................I bow to your superior intellect with or without spell-check. :D

BTW: The best blaster might be the 2-cm Oerlikon Flak made by Buehrle in Switzerland.

Waiting for the AB brain-trust to chime in. :(

The drive into work this morning is living proof that the vast majority of drivers do not have a clue what they are doing.

F, if you aren't comfortable in snow storm conditions, stay the eff home or stay in the right lane. PS, maybe get some snow tires.

But then again, this is a government town with government workers who can't make a decision at work if their life depended on it; how do you expect them to make decisions behind the wheel. LOL

seriously, 'S' and 'RS' models  at least the RS is lighter than the S ;)

have to admit though, it's kind of fun being a guy my age these days. seems like we're the target market for every second ad out there. admittedly most of them are for, well, 'help' in certain areas. but still fun to see.
