Paint job

I am thinking about having my 911cab refreshed. I does not require a lot of body work. I have had estimated of between 3000 to 10000. What is a fair price? All shops have been independent shops.

Thanks

It depends what you want done and what was written in the estimates.
My car was stripped to bare metal, doors, glass, fenders, and interior removed. No rust or dent repairs were required.
I also had a colour change.
My friends shop did it so it wasn't a high priority. His bread and butter is insurance work.
It took 3 years to do my car however I got a good price because of the time it took.
We (body shop) and myself learned alot in this transaction.

Price is an important part of it, but regardless, check the quality of work first. Ask to see some completed samples of their work. Some places will give you a mirror like finish at a reasonable price, while recently I saw a $5k repaint with pretty bad orange-peel.

Since you are in Kingston, I know of a guy in Trenton whose work was good when I have seen it (girlfriends mom had her motorcycle repainted there and it came out flawless). I'll PM his name to you.

I have a good paint guy in Peterborough, if ever anyone is looking. But structural metal on a 914 and maybe 911 I'd get Mike914 in Colbourne to do that part, then send it to the painter.

Not putting miles on your car is like not having sex with your girlfriend, so she'll be more desirable to her next boyfriend.
