Need help with value of parts?
Hello fellow pelicans, a friend of mine has been storing several Carrera body parts for a fellow, I believe from a 87? I have an opportunity to purchase these parts, I don't need them so will end up selling them but I don't want to over pay.
Below is a list of the items. Guards Red, 2 front fenders with headlights, both bumpers front and rear with rubber on front and bumperettes on rear, not sure about the front and rear valance hood, rear window, both doors with glass, rockers, engine lid with Porsche tail (OEM) I don't remember the condition, stopping by on Friday to have a look. I realize one of the challenges in selling large parts is shipping cost. Looking for help evaluating the parts, what would they be worth? Thanks guys, Mike |

to sell them, shipping is a killer. a search on pelican will give you an idea of values, but unless they're very cheap, you need to have a hard look. sounds like it's mostly SC/Carrera parts and there's lots of those out there.

Thanks for the feedback haycait911,
I went by yesterday and had a look at the parts, they were stuck in the rear of a storage trailer. It wasn't easy to view the items but I had a look, I didn't take photos because I realized the asking price for the bundle was more than my level of interest, I don't need the parts for myself. The parts appear to be from a Carrera but could be SC and look like they are in good condition, no obvious damage or visible rust on any of the parts as far as I could see. The colour looks like Guards Red, the hood (lid) appeared to have a few areas where a yellow colour was showing through, this wouldn't cause me much concern because these parts would be restored to suit a new project. The parts list looks like this: Luggage lid - hood 2 rockers 2 front fenders with H4 headlights, not sure if they work although the glass lenses looked good and clear 2 doors with glass and frames (black trim paint flaking off the frames), power windows, presumably motors are there, the door panels (beige) with handles, black caps and pockets with lids, also flag mirrors, I assume power mirrors? Rear glass Roof (sunroof delete) Front bumper Front valance with chin spoiler Rear bumper with bumperettes Rear engine lid with tail, the rubber has the Porsche crest and the lid appeared to have the PORSCHE script, although it was difficult to see All the items looked like they were in good condition but this would need to be confirmed by pulling them outside for a good look in the daylight. I'm not convinced they are worth pursuing especially at the price the owner wants. He wants to sell all of the parts together and because I don't need them the investment to sit on them only to maybe recover what I'd have to pay isn't worth it to me. But if someone local to Niagara needs these parts it may be worth it? Mike |

Good call
![]() Many a times I've walked away from a "good deal" because the price was to high for me to ever make a profit (or break even) or the old "I'm not pulling them out unless we have a deal".
