Thx |

Just an option
I'm not sure if this one is compatible with your car - off of my 89. If it is the same model as your car, how about trying it? It is untested. From my track car - PO pulled the cruise parts off of engine, it is basically unused - if you are interested, $80 +$10 shipping. If it does not work, send it back, I will refund the $80

Hugh - might be worth searching the main forum to troubleshoot unit. I did a fast search and it looks like 88-89 is the first year of VDO electrical unit vs earlier vacuum unit. I am not an expert by any stretch, but I also know there is / was a relay in my car specific to the cruise. If yours is the same, perhaps switching out the relay is step 1? I am sure there are many here that know much more than I do.

You may be correct Vince as the numbers stamped on my unit do not match yours.
I'll have to refer to my Bentley and see I can make sense of it. |

Counterclockwise?

Knowing the year of the car will help. My 86 looks nothing like the 89 above.

The earlier pneumatic cruise control system of the 911 was replaced with a completely electrical system adapted from the 928 in 1988. Obviously the components are not interchangeable.
