when does the p/steering come on ? does it stay on when engine is running or only ON DEMAND ? is their a relay externally....can U buy the control module separately@ where? thks 2002 base #wmwrc33402tc35580

It is always running, increasing assist as the wheel is turned. No separate module.

The only thing part of the p/s system that goes on and off is the power steering fan. Be sure to inspect it and to make sure it's working - you can turn on the AC, which should kick it on. Also, spin it with your hand when you're under the vehicle to make sure it spins freely without any issues.
