Kendall transmission oil
Is there anywhere in Australia to buy Kendall oil for a 915 transmission? I'd like to source it locally if possible.

These guys come up as importers but they don't bring it in.
Pacific-Petroleum-Pty-Ltd I am assuming you are after Kendall NS-MP Hypoid Gear Lubricant, 1 Qt SAE 80W-90 for your 915. Petrogas have it but only in 60L drums! Maybe contact Petrogas to see if a customer of there's might sell you a smaller quantity?

Boy this is not cheap. But if it lasts and makes the gearbox sing.
It is worth the shot! |

Thanks guys,
Darren your correct as always, i am after the Kendall NS-MP Hypoid Gear Lubricant SAE 80W-90. I should have been clearer with my question. I'll give both contacts a call on Monday, Pacific Petroleum is local, so it would be a score if they have it or can source it. John and Al, thanks for the heads up on the Swepco, i'll keep that as a back up. I really want to give the Kendall a go if i can source it. Stefan, no not cheap, but i think it's worth it

Hi Scott,
Unfortunately Pacific don't bring in that particular one. Petrogas have it but in big quantities. I would try and find a customer who is located near you who would be willing to down pack a smaller quantity. Maybe a workshop? Perhaps even ring around the local Porsche mechanics? There is a Brad Penn distributor in Aus. Just another option for you!!

Thanks Darren,
I'll call Petrogas tomorrow and see if they can steer me in the direction of a local customer who might be prepared to part with a small amount. I'll also contact the Kendall distributor located here in Brisbane. I'd like to find it locally rather than having to get it from the states. I'll post what i find out as i'm sure there will be other Aussie Pelicans who would be interested in the oil for there cars.

I did find it at:
Oil and Energy Pty Ltd 20 Ambitious Link Bibra Lake, WA 6163 1800 015 580 They only stock it in 19ltr containers for about $101+gst. The guy I spoke to was Will Dobson, nice bloke and super helpful.

19L for 100 bones?? That's more than 5 times cheaper than the Swepco! Even with shipping I'm thinking it's still going to be under $30 a fill!
Anyone know if trans oil goes 'off' once it's been opened? 19L will last me a few years...

I'm thinking the same thing Alan, i asked Will and from memory he didn't think it had a shelf life. Maybe someone with more knowledge will chime in.
I priced Swepco and it was way more than that for one fills worth.

Scott, if you get the oil put it in the tranny AFTER you rebuild it otherwise you may be disappointed.

No worries Greg, I think 19ltrs will stretch to before and after if required. A rebuild is definitely on the cards though, especially after seeing how sweet your old girl shifts.

We must catch up again, I have a confession to make, I have added another car to the stable and she is British. Rose, a '69 MGB MK2 auto, I keep Ruby covered so she can't see what I am up to

Greg,
Long over due for a get together. I thought I might have caught you at the Club day at Willowbank on Sunday but alas. I'll give you a call this week. What happened to the 356 idea? You wouldn't have to blindfold the old girl then
