G'day!
|
I LOVE reading all these posts!
![]() I don't think I'll ever "retire" as in stop working all together, but I'm shrinking the hamster wheel dramatically and am starting to have all this extra time that's been mentioned here. I think "time" is the most precious commodity we have. Having more of it to ourselves is certainly the best reward one can have after all that 9 to 5 stuff!

Not retired but have stepped off the full time hamster wheel and it feels good
Swapped my 1hr driving commute to a windowless office for a commute through my living room and kitchen (only traffic I have to worry about is a busy bathroom) to working outside on my man cave project. I've lost weight, feeling good, have a healthy tan and sleep like a baby but my money will run out and in a few months will have to rejoin the circus again. Can't ever see myself retiring but can see me giving myself more time for my projects

I retired in 2008 from the Navy, but had to go back to work after realizing my money would run out if I didn’t die on Wednesday the following week.

It can be disconcerting. Seriously, I often think, "If I only knew then what I know now."

Todd, I've never worked harder and yet I haven't worked a single day in 3 years, August 1st being the Tru6 anniversary date. And with 2 new assistants, I finally have flares in clay and 4.0 MFI is in the works. What could be more fun than that? Just got a lot more 275 GTB stuff in, that's almost as fun.

I'm finally starting to listen to this advice. Early 40's now and trying to enjoy life a bit, not just work on stuff all the time.

Here and gone in a flash. Then you're left with memories. . Edit: I'd give half my interest in hell to be 40 again.

I often can't tell you what day of the week it is, but I can estimate the time within about 10 minutes even in the middle of the night.
