My older sister had an 850 Spyder in the early 70's. .Red. Even though I am 6'4" I managed to squeeze into iit.

I borrowed it quite often. I drove the snot out of that tiny thing. It was a ton of fun. I was impressed with it's tubular header.

As I recall on this little Sweetie is the clutch cable afixed to the firewall and tore the thin firewall. Easily fixed, of course.
.
I almost bought one of these years ago...I like small cars.

There is a BBC program called Car SOS where relatives of the owners of derelict cars phone in and they do a surprise restoration of it - I wish GF would phone them about the SC.

A couple of weeks ago they had an episode on the Fiat Spider. Wow, what a cute car. It included going to an enthusist's club meet in Northern Italy.

Me too!

It was in 1980, bought the 1969 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe for $400 and it came with a second 124 for parts. The car was all kinds of rusty and I worked all summer with a body guy. We riveted sheet metal over the rust holes, the chrome headlight rings were trashed so he just bondo'd over the recess.
I sandblasted the rims and painted them silver.
Painted it GM Midnight Blue and it looked fine to me. Monza exhaust, Alpine stereo, DOHC, twin webers, 5 speed...car ran like stink. Actually, it was fairly slowish, but sounded awesome.

So much fun.

Traded it to a buddy for 2 cars. A '68 Mustang coupe and a '73 Gran Torino.
'Stang was a solid car, Torino had a trashed 351 Cleveland. Pulled that and installed a 302 Boss.

I bought a 124 Sport Coupe from a girl's father...she went away to college.
She was the original owner and took it to dealer for the slightest issue. Perfect car. White with black top/interior.
Loved the car and the gear box.
I lived in an apartment at the time...parked in the carport.
Bought a new set of tires for the beautiful aftermarket rims.
Came out one morning and it was sitting on cinder blocks.
