2007 Nissan Fuel line clip help, ASAP please.

Had to replace the sending unit the fuel tank on my Xterra. Not a terrible difficult job but I broke the clip that holds the fuel line from the pump to the injectors. Any help on name or part number would be a great help.

Here is a pic of the housing the clip fits into. The clip is a horse shoe sort of shape. It slides into the slot. The housing slides over the barb on the tank. The clip then slides in pressing against a flange preventing the hose form popping off.

You may wish to buy new clips and the little tool to remove them, in case you break one of the designed by the devil clips on there now.

This looks like it might be the correct part? Dorman Fuel Line Adapters 800-092. Can't say for sure though.

Ayles, no I haven't thank you. One of the issues with my vehicle was a faulty gas gauge. I'll look into it but since I replaced the entire sending unit it may be to late.

So it turns out a Chrysler fuel line fitting is the same. I took the blue clip out of the Chrysler part popped it into the Nissan housing which was still attached to the fuel line and Walla it was fixed. I got the piece at my local Napa. It comes in two sizes 5/16" and 3/8". I believe it was the 5/16" that fit. $10.00 roughly.

Thanks to everyone that replied for your help. Good to know Ayles. My Xterra has been great. 238,000 miles nary an issue in ten years. Until this year maintenance has less than $500.00 annually. The fuel temperature sender went bad which caused the check engine light to go on so I could not get the vehicle inspected. As I was waiting for the sender unit to arrive the Xterra developed a multi cylinder miss fire in bank one. Turns out one of the Cats went bad. I bought all four catalytic converters and four O2 sensors. About $600.00 plus the sender unit for $60.00and the clip $10.00. On the other hand my Jeep spends more time at the dealership than it does in my garage. The good thing is since it is always broken the mileage stays low.

I went there first no go. I even went to two Nissan dealerships. Both did the same Google search we do because their schematics are so bad. One guy said he couldn't help because he could narrow down the part, the other wanted to order the entire fuel system. I didn't ask about price but the delivery to the dealership was ten days to two weeks.

The NAPA is in an older part of the county and old skool. They have a binder with all sorts of obscure parts. Plastic push rivets, molding clips, stamped nuts with the washer attached, etc. I pointed to the part he walked into the back came out with two. One 5/16" and one 3/8" he hands them to me and says go see which one works. bring back the other.

My experience with the Xterra mirrors yours. I have 110k miles and never had an issue. I had to replace a cam position sensor two years ago at a cost of $40 and a few minutes of my time.

Cool, a similar place closed recently around here. I got stuck with my chebby in a similar spot. Simple fuel pump job turned into lines, ends... I hate rust.

Spread the word and give that NAPA some business. We all need good folks like that once in a while.

Thanks Fred, I appreciate the offer.

The NAPA will be my first choice from now on. Even though it is twenty minutes away. There must be a dozen Advance, Pep Boys and Auto Zone's between my house and this one. Great customer service and parts selection.

I found a similar hardware store in Morehead City last winter when the boat was in Beaufort, NC. Old skool hardware store still sold nails by the pound from a bin. They had brass screen which I needed and they had oil based paints.

OK guys splain these issues to me. So I have determined the fuel pump/sending unit I installed is faulty or is failing. The gauge won't go all the way to full or far enough down to trigger the low fuel light. It will go up to about 3/4 and down to just above 1/4. It did go to full and empty but now it doesn't. But that is not one of the issues.

Issue #1, When attempting to fill the tank the fuel nozzle shuts off every minute or so. I can only put two or three gallons in at a time then it seems to back up and turn off the nozzle. Even if I fill by hand as slow as the pump can go it will shut off. I need to wait fifteen seconds or so then I can start again. I have already dropped the tank twice to check for a pinched hose and readjusted the filler hose trying to get a straight run.

Issue #2, and I know this is coincidence and it will eventually happen someplace else but, When ever I drive this vehicle to Home Depot and come back out to start it, it won't start. This is clearly a fuel delivery issue and has only started happening since I replaced the pump/sending unit. If I unclip the air cleaner cover, shoot some starting fluid in the intake it will fire up run a few seconds and then stall. This happens twice. On the third try the vehicle will fire and run on it's own. It's as if the pump looses prime and it takes three starts to re-prime the pump. I can make a dozen stops before HD get in and it will be fine. Go to HD and it won't start. I can go to HD first and it won't start. Three shots of starter fluid and it will fire up. Leave HD drive where ever I want no issues. No issues at Lowes. This has happened at least six times.

Any chance the two are related? It's not venting properly or something?

It sounds like it is not venting correctly. But I am not an expert.

The HD curse was lifted today. It failed to start after being driven about a mile and then turned off. Oddly after I got it restarted it stubbled when ever I gave it throttle. I drove it like that a few miles and stopped at a few places but left it running. Got it home. Turned it off. restarted it first try and it ran fine.
