Census Bureau Business Survey

This must have been the first year for this, and I am wondering what other business owners think. Response is required by law, of course. Mostly it was asking me motivated me what sort of hispanic I am(not), how much dough I got from small business loans, what motivated me to own a business. Not sure how this is a census thing, but that is who it came from.

I think the census is only done every 10 years. I believe the last census was 2010, so a few years early on this one.

I worked with the last census locally and don't think businesses were included.

The Annual Business Survey (ABS) is a new joint project between the U.S. Census Bureau and the National Science Foundation’s National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics. The ABS is a new survey that replaces three existing surveys: the five-year Survey of Business Owners (SBO) for employer businesses, the Annual Survey of Entrepreneurs (ASE), and the Business Research and Development and Innovation Survey for Microbusinesses (BRDI-M), and includes a new innovation content module.

The ABS will provide statistics on minority-owned business estimates and will measure other business and business owner characteristics such as firms, receipts, payroll and employment by demographic characteristics such as gender, race, ethnicity and veteran status.

Data collection began in June 2018 with the first set of data scheduled to be released in December 2019. Click here to learn more about this new survey.

It is legit, sort of, with respect to being from the actual government. Pretty much BS, as far as what questions they are asking. Took sort of a while to fill it all out too.

Why would you not want the government to know a bit more about local business, and the contributions you make you society (your customers, your neighbors, your employees)? If anything, that is what I would MOST want the government to be aware of, since it's the MOST important pieces of data concerning economy and finance.

You have Libertarian in your sigline, but you you don't recognize the need to support the most local parts of your society?

Because they will use the information to find a way to clamp down on us with more regulation , and taxes. fk that form

That really was not what the survey was about.

Even if the survey was about what you seem to think it was about, it will still be the antithesis of what a Libertarian would want.
