Obviously you have run out of reasoned arguments and are now resorting to ad hom attacks.

... makes me a troll. I think you are prejudiced. If you said the same things about a different animal - humans - you'd be ostracized from a large section of society. The fact that the most cogent response you can come up with is an insult reinforces my opinion. |

Makes sense.... appreciate your input. My father owns a 65 Mustang. My mother and I bought it for him when he retired a few years ago. On occasion he and I will take our cars to Car and Coffee. He's 78 and I guess its time I keep a closer eye on the Mustang. I'd hate to have it get away from him.

To the OP. You owe it to yourself to see how any specific dog you are interested in is going to react with the other ones that are going to be in their life. Regardless of size or breed. Other than that find one that ~you~ like. |

The two Chi's don't give a crap about anyone but themselves. One barely moves from her spot in the sun when you come home. The other won't let you sit anywhere with having his desire to be on someones lap being immediately satiated. We have too many hawks to let them outside much.

One thing you might do is test drive the dog you choose and take it for a visit to the GF''s house to see how it gets on with the other two dogs and how they react to having a large furry stranger invade their house. |

Pick ANY bad behavior from ANY dog.
Poops in house, jumps up on strangers, separation anxiety, etc. you name it. You will get the canned response, “ there are no bad dogs, only bad dog owners”. I’ve read it here in many many instances. except!!! Pit bulls. Oh hell no! “That dog is gonna rip your face off, it IN the breed. “ Adopt a dog. Eyes wide open. Just know the challenges. My biggest problem dog was a golden-Shepard mix. Total nightmare. But i know, “bad owner.......”

They lived with a Pitti for a year while her sister was there working with the horses. One of the Chi's hid under the kitchen table for a year, the other could have cared less.

You can blame me for being stupid enough to wade into a pit bull debate on this forum. Anyone who doesn't think that dogs were bred for specific characteristics is an idiot. Do they think that it's a pure coincidence that Golden Retrievers like to swim so much? That Jack Russells like to chase gophers into their holes?
Equating the genetic characteristics of dogs w some human geneticist w racist beliefs is quite the stretch. Bravo for that one, you really got me beat there. ![]() I could elaborate on my opinions on human behavior and nature vs. nurture, (hint-I'm not a racist), but I really need to get out the door and get some things done. I've been sick at home for days and spending too much time w the keyboard.

I always thought of it this way.
You have a teen on a winding road and it is raining. On one hand he could take the long hood S or he could take the 4 pot/AT Camry. A responsible kid would probably be fine in either. Most of us might not make the entire trip at that age.

Hopefully most decisions are based on the probability of a positive outcome. Should I go to college and get a well paying position or profession or chance it and become a ski bum. Yeah the ski bum sounds like a lot more fun but... I know pretty much every thing I do is based on probability. That is based on my experience and seeing other people’s outcomes taking a different path. But that is just me and certainly doesn’t apply to anyone else because as far as I can remember, no one has asked me to live their life for them, however I’m still waiting for a crack as a F1 pilot.
The probability that any thread on perceived aggressive dog breeds would degenerate into ‘I’m right, no I’m right and you are a dumb@$$” is virtually 100%. But I still enjoy looking at well reasoned arguments and more importantly seeing who puts them together. Carry on.
