A little bit of haze, here

pavulon 01-20-2019 08:04 PM

-2F and crystal clear...and yet it seems a bit 'meh'. :(

wdfifteen 01-20-2019 08:12 PM

I'm keeping an eye on it. At 11:10 EST the moon is about 1/3 obscured. The view from my house is somewhat obscured by trees, but it is -7F outside and I'm not going out to find a better view.

I got a few early shots before total cloud cover. :(

wdfifteen 01-20-2019 08:29 PM

James, at the time you posted that photo the moon was at least 50% obscured here in Ohio.

masraum 01-20-2019 08:32 PM

We were perfectly clear all day and for the first 45-60 mins. Right now we've got some really high, really thin clouds, but it's still clear enough for a photo. At least 2 mins ago.

The photo was the first one I took, about 5 minutes into the eclipse.

Total in 10 minutes SmileWavy

Just wondered how much difference you at a few degrees west saw relative to us.

masraum 01-20-2019 08:41 PM

The clouds are holding out so we can still see it well enough.

With a lunar eclipse, we all see the same thing at the same time.

It's cold as a witches tit here. Windy too. Hard to keep camera from shaking even on tripod. 14 degrees wind gusting to 30 mph. Brrrrrrrr......Sittin' with my knees on the frozen ground looking up at some super wolf man jack blood moon bla bla bla.....
