That's troubling to see but I guess any mass produced electronics can fail .

Another vote for CTEK. I’ve had one running nonstop for 4 yrs and like Flinestone mentioned, I would rotate around. Added this one below, I have the older 4.3 MUS version…both have been great. You do not need to higher amp model if you are doing storage charging/maintaining. You have the two old style chargers to handle that, the 4.3amp of this model is plenty for storage needs. I even bought a .8amp model to maintain the generator battery.

If you need to run long distances you can buy this adapter to use with the following SAE cable. I had a previous charger that used SAE…since it lives outside and further from plugs I use the 25ft extension with the adapter to leave my CTEK in the garage. You will need a SAE to battery connector which are also chea, again I only use for long runs. Any cars in a garage I install the CTEK battery connector provided with the charger.

I have a bunch of maintainers. CTEK, Tequipment CTEK, Battery Tender and Diehard. I've ben running those for years and I like the Diehard as it has a digital readout that tells me the % of charge and when it is full.

Funny coincidence..I'm thinking of buying a charger/maintainer, so was watching this last night. (embed came out too big...deleted, link instead.)

There is even a Porsche branded one that looks like it is actually a CTEC.

I have a 4 bank Battery Tender that has worked great for years. My motorcycles are on it always and I put the 911 and the VW on it to top off the batteries. I also have a single Battery Tender one that is pretty old that still works. My charger is an old Craftsman one from when Sears was still around, it has a starting function that has come in handy.

Have also heard good reviews on the CTEC.

It is for small lawn mowers/ATV/motorcycles. It’s been on my small Generac iQ3500…even added the CTEK panel to easily check charge and battery status.

CTEK even rebrands them for BMW and Ferrari.

If you decide on CTEK, PM me, I'm a dealer.

That said I;ve got a handful of $20 pulse trickle chargers from amazon that work very well- recovered several AGM batteries that I thought were dead.

We never really answered the quality question. Something I need to ask, with most of you being American why wouldn't you purchase the charger from an American company? That was the reason I ordered the Noco, I try to support North American companies when I can.
