Denis, it's your fault..

Your 951 post started me surfing BAT. Then I found this. Hours to go. Illustrates well the folly of buying a new car, storing it, and thinking it will be worth more in a decade.

Ever driven one in anger? It is understandable.

Plus if buttcheek imprints bother you, go for the 5K mile, never driven, Mustang.

I switched to working from home late 2017.

I went from putting 12,000 miles a year on my Jaguar, to not quite even 800 miles last year.

I can easily see someone with multiple cars only putting 5,000 miles over 10 years.

The value of that generation GT500 will be severely torpedo'd by the roll out of the latest GT500...and it deserves to be torpedo'd, imo.

Might be why it is getting sold, upgrade to the new!

FWIW, the GT500KR was a no sale at $46K...sold 'em new for around $75K.

That Shelby Mustang is a nice looking car, IMO. The e30 M3s are made out of cocaine, as far as the market is concerned.

I had a 2008 GT500 with an few exhaust, suspension, and tune modifications, it's one of my favorite cars. That generation of Mustang is smaller with better steering and in my opinion a nicer interior than the subsequent generation. I had a number of 2010-2013 Roush and GT500s and the 2008 is still by far my favorite.

The new GT500 only comes in an automatic, I wonder if it will hurt sales?

Some of the purists are complaining about that. But since the GT500 is primarily a drag race car with gobs of power, there is no argument that the automatic yields a much faster 1/4mile E.T.

I guess those who really want a 6 speed manual can go to the GT350 (526 horsepower) or the Bullitt (480 horsepower). Add boost to either if you like...it's readily available through the aftermarket.

For real world real street driving? Well, during one of our weekly trips to our favorite pool hall with I-5 in it's not unusual both lanes clogged, I looked over at Cindy and said; "Boy, I could use 500 horsepower right now." Sad but true...for most of the driving I do these days, even the lowly 315 horsepower of my '09 'Stang seldom gets used.

It may chase a few away but a lot of people today have never driven a stick. That car will have Tremec’s first DCT effort. I hope it works well because a lot of DCTs have not.
