Well crap.

The Durametric Pro says it works with up to 2015 Porsche vehicles. That does me no good when I have a 2017 Macan. I will wait for 8:00 AM Pacific time to call them and see if their web page is way behind, or that they are just stuck in the past. I don't see anything for any Porsche newer than 2015. That is 7 years of cars that don't connect to?

There might be a problem for later cars due to interconnectivity with Stuttgart.

I don't know how far that goes, but I heard somewhere that later ones, everything is interconnected to the backend .

Like, want to replace the PCM head unit
Dealer can't do it, Stuttgart has to like punch in the new serial and link it to the VIN of the car.

Some others may comment on that, I never delved deeper into it, I've not gone beyond the 9x7 era, and those are still based on pretty straighforward local coding..

Note, that's for coding new or replacement parts.. I would expect error clearing to still be possible...but these cars, many models and modules clear codes on the individual module via Canbus, not ODB2..

Digging around on the Macan forum is seems that the iCarsoft EU Pro will reset the oil, battery registration, rear brakes replacement, and ABS bleeding. And it seems to work on many different vehicles.

https://www.amazon.com/iCarsoft-Diagnostic-European-Vehicles-Reset/dp/B07KR2QTX1/ref=sr_1_1?crid=4CHOBO66W3IA&keywords=iCarsoft+CR+EU+Pro&pd_rd_r=42c771fc-2511-4022-9e96-c4c1cb3947b4&pd_rd_w=GIBvK&pd_rd_wg=DAOiU&pf_rd_p=5dfba980-229f-416b-a787-ff627e8ff43e&pf_rd_r=88BXYAR0BYGH4XSPKPV2&qid=1646238403&s=automotive&sprefix=icarsoft+cr+eu+pro%2Cautomotive%2C79&sr=1-1-catcorr&vehicle=2017-2-23987------------&vehicleName=2017+Porsche+Macan

The Durametric does not work past 2015 models from what I read.

Glen,

I have the Icarsoft POR V 2.0. You will need it to keep your sanity. Or something very similar.

Used it on my 2018 base Macan. Able to reset service reminders, retract electric parking brake so you can change rear brake pads...etc. It can do a lot of the normal stuff.

It can also save you $1800. First hand experience. Well...saved $1000.

The 40k service was due. Plugs filters, oil change...and the PDK fluid change. Dealer charges $1800. I told them I could do everything else, what is the price for the PDK fluid change?
$900 - 1,000. Really?

I ordered a change kit from a dealer that is big online, Suncoast Porsche. $279. Included everything.

The Icarsoft POR V2.0, or similar is needed during the refill to close up the fill plug at a specific temp. There are a couple videos online.

Need more information, feel free to contact me.

^ ah yes, the PDK fluid change. I saw a Porsche tech do that on YouTube and I said to myself "I'll take it to them and pay the $$$$".

I'm not entirely happy about the POR2's menu and functions
For instance the 987 cayman doesn't exit
there is only a cayman

to get the airbags reset
i need to use the 987 Boxster, but i can't use that for anything else.

update didn't do much, and if anything made it worse.
So far i've been able to do anything I need it to do, but everytime it takes some figuring out where to find the function i need, it's not intuitive at all.

So that's why, I'de recommend Durametric, it's software , not firmware on a device
In Europe the durametric is even more expensive due to import costs.. But in us it's only like a 100 bucks more for enthousiast.. which well, makes it a no brainer

I have the iCarsoft CRv20 1/4- you can download software for up to four different manufacturers. I have reset the service reminders of my BMW, Cayman S and Cayenne S with it.
