I have been a voracious reader for about 50 years. Hardbacks preferably, paperbacks while traveling. I generally save my books and probably had about 5,000 in my library as of a few years ago, not counting the many thousands of magazines that I also had. I’ve sold off virtually all of the magazines and perhaps a couple thousand books. I will be moving in a few months, to a different state, to downsize and I will be renting a house for the first time in decades. It’s unlikely that I’ll find a house that has enough library shelving for all my books, so I don’t know at the moment what I will do with them. I won’t sell them, as some are frequent reference materials and I have found that I can re-read the novels after 20 years and enjoy them again.

I don’t buy many books now, certainly not as many as I used to, as I have found it easier to patronize libraries. With the inter-library loaning relationships that are now in place, I can get almost any book I wish.

I will probably die before ever picking up a Kindle or similar device.

Recently on a trip and reading James Watson's Autobiography "Avoid Boring People". Funny the looks you get when you give someone the title of that one.

I just checked my Kindle...close to 300 books on it..have read all but three of them.
I would never go back to hard-cover books.
History and True Crime are my favs.

I typically read from 10-15 books over the winter. I tried the kindle, but I like the tactile sensation of a book. Junger's Storm of Steel was a very good book. I normally read Non-fiction Military History.

Currently Americans at War by Stephan Ambrose. I've got to read every evening, keeps me sharp, I think.
