OK, I'm a bit confused here. Doesn't a periodontist specialize in treating gum disease and related problems? I thought orthodontists are the ones who deal mostly with cosmetic procedures, like teeth straightening.

Moving teeth out of the bone, moving teeth in the presence of periodontal inflammation, moving teeth with undiagnosed fractures or abscesses, moving teeth into occlusal (bite) trauma. Ugly stuff.
