That's the 7% they talk about.
But with so much invested in relatively low-yield bonds, I'd think the rest would have to be more risky to get that return. They also mess with shorts, maybe that's part of it.
something just doesn't feel right.
Alright, that makes a bit more sense for the expense ratio then, it just wasn't real obvious at first glance from the portfolio view of a bunch of bond funds. Those being the balancing side to a bunch of much higher volatility on the other side seems like the setup.

My TSLA stock was a dog today at only +7%

XPEV (+34%), GP (+40%), LI (+16%), and NIO (+15%) were all quite a bit better. Too bad I only have a couple hundred bucks of each.

NKLA was up 12%, and though I have a couple of shares I'm still more than a bit dubious.

There will likely be a crash and burn or two on this broader list eventually I'd think.

I got back into tsla around 390 and sold it just under 500 this last go around, no regerts on that

I'm wondering what December will bring. Got a chunk O'cash sitting in cash and it's burning a hole in my pocket.
Do I let it sit or invest it?

Concerns are:
  • possible December sell-off for tax purposes
  • economy getting kilt again short term from shut downs
  • delayed stimulus causing more havoc

I'm thinking we'll see a downturn over the next two to three weeks, with a recovery before the end of the year.
If that's the case I'd be better off sitting and waiting for the correction.

BUT... I really have no idea what will happen tomorrow/next week/next month.

Thoughts?

With the current run-ups, I've put trailing stops on a few things that I'd normally just let ride super long term. I've had a few things that have triggered that I've managed to buy in a bit lower on, otherwise I just rebalance from single stocks to indexes, etc.

I think I share some of your thoughts for the next month or so, my plan is to just leave stuff alone, it's mostly a balanced long term portfolio for that purpose anyway, and far less than the $$ you throw around.

The stimulus question seems like such a big one and has unpredictable results.

This looks like a sort of recent stock thread.

Anyone holding CIIC or other EV companies?

Made good money recently off CIIC and VERU and did some swing trading but account got flagged.

I will need to fill my account up in order to bypass the flagging.

Any thoughts on profitable companies down the road for 2021? Let me know!

Shorted WKHS and SOLO when they were at stupid levels. SOLO in particular wont make it. WKHS was dumb money betting on a contract they could never get in the first place. CIIC is another good short candidate. These EV stocks remind me of the dot bomb stocks in the early 00's. Most of them wont even exist in a year or two.

Take a look at FUV, great three wheelers.

Just to drag this back on topic, my TSLA is up over 800 pct since I bought a year ago. No plan to short, call, or sell any for a few years.

Is it time to short TSLA yet? Because it sure wasn't the last time you advised it.

TSLA exists in a world of its own right now. A lot of that will change with it's inclusion into the S&P500 tonight. It's going to be forced to trade a lot differently.

I sell a lot of cheap naked calls on TSLA when the iV spikes. That play is probably going to end.

Watch the massive volume in it on the close today with huge MOC orders that will need to be matched off.

Yeah, some thing like 110M shares to buy at close today... might have some effect...

Plenty of firms who accumulated stock to meet those buyers.

Lots of volume and lots of squaring up but not a crazy move.

That's just the official closing price so they can rebalance the S&P and figure out the divisor. It's the price all the firms who were not allowed to have slippage in their funds had to have.

The stocks trading in the 670's now

Yeah, no worries, not selling anytime soon.

Happy Holidays to all.

Ps. I just traded comments with our old friend Wayne962 on BAT. He’s still a car guy, obviously..
