I once called a tow truck to haul my Volvo about 50 miles away for a repair. The driver had been to my house before and assured me he would get it done by lunch.
I came home in the afternoon, the car was still there so I called him to complain. He told me had towed the car...he had actually taken my neighbors car. Mistakes happen.

We had an enclosed trailer with a race car stolen in broad daylight on a Sat afternoon from the shop a couple of years ago. They had to drag two cars out of the way, hook up and move a pontoon boat just to get at it and then hooked up and towed it off leaving all the other cars/boat on the side of the busy street. That took ballz....

A friend had his new, double axle race car trailer stolen from Willow Springs many years ago. The moron that took it came to the races with his race car on the trailer two weeks later, the trailer now sporting a blotchy rattle can paint job. Three competitors called the owner within an hour. A slight beat down and repossession ensued later that afternoon. No police involved.
