Math hard

Many many years ago my parents had retired to Dayton TN. and I was visiting them . My dad said to me lets make a beer run . Hopped in his Suburban and off we went to the " beer hut " . The beer hut was a glorified shed that had refrigerators in it I had never seen a setup like this . Anyway we walked up to the window and the young lady with an IQ near her tooth count asked us what we wanted . My dad told her and a few seconds later she rang up our order . I wasn't paying attention I was looking around just seeing the sites . I heard my dad ask the girl " are you sure " ? She said yes and my dad said OK and we loaded up and drove away . As we were driving up the mountain my dad had his $hit eating grin and was chuckling so I asked what was up ? Our beer order came to a little less than $20.00 and my dad handed her a 20 dollar bill and the correct change ........... she gave him back nearly 50.00 in change !!! He asked her are you sure you counted that correctly ? With no hesitation she said I sure did so off we went . I'm guessing high school was the best 6 years of her life

When out kids were growing up, we used to practice math while driving in the car. They knew all their multiplication tables by the time they were going into first grade. Son graduated with a physics major, math minor and got a perfect score on his GRE test. Practice pays off.

Not sure about other states but here in SC, high schoolers need Algebra to graduate and most universities are requiring Calculus for a degree, no matter the major. Even with all that, math is hard for most. That is all because most textbooks in elementary school readily admit in the note to teacher that calculators should be on hand for the students from the very beginning. Memorizing addition and multiplication is a thing of the past in a lot of schools.

unemployment at 3.7%, lowest it's been in nearly FIFTY YEARS, more jobs that applicants, the only people who are not working are the lazy low lifes who would rather sponge off of society than work. What cutbacks?
