Bulletproof coffee

Any of you ever try it? I like going to my local coffee house and try different coffees they have. I like the siphon coffee as it is really smooth, but this bulletproof coffee was quite intriguing! Fresh ground coffee with grass-fed, unsalted butter, and mct oil. It sounds kind of strange, but intriguing, so I tried it. It doesn't taste like coffee, but more like a soup, as my gf says. Well, researching bulletproof coffee, I thought the benefits were BS. It is supposed to suppress hunger, give you mental clarity and steady lasting energy. After a week drinking this stuff, I don't need as much sleep, and I'm not hungry. Mental clarity? No idea since I'm retired. lol However, I have been making my own at home with regular butter and coconut oil instead of mct oil. Placebo effect? Who the hell knows. I do know it is a hell of a lot cheaper that that $7 a cup stuff!

Last May I tried a diet called the "Eggfast diet" and other than water, I could have bulletproof coffee. I don't drink coffee so, I didn't try it. I lost 8lbs in 5 days on that diet, time to do it again, Lol.

My wife drinks it with MCT oil then has a protein shake every morning before CrossFit. It works for her but it turns my stomach.

Learned something new today already....

People pay $7 for a cup of coffee...seriously?

Bag of Peet's - $7....goes a bit further and doesn't suck....fresh is key.

Used to purchase green beans and roasted my own for years....can't beat that

Peet's Major Dickason's Blend has been my morning coffee for at least a decade....YMMV.

If you really want fresh, you get the beans straight from a roaster.

The coffee house does exactly that. Fresh roast 100% Kona beans, grind, then make the coffee via espresso machine or siphon.

Very nice!

Bulletproof coffee sounds interesting. I really enjoy the taste of coffee all by itself, so I would be a hesitant to try something where butter is added.

Nope....you purchase green beans in bulk and roast yer own . How many days ago were your "roaster beans" roasted...it matters if you're into that....between 2-10 days if you really want peak....

Peets MD blend works for me now....roasted 3 weeks ago....

It's a coffee geek thing....btdt for just great black coffee....Peets

Bullschit! If you want really fresh you grow and pick your own beans, roast and make the coffee right in the field. I've been doing it this way for decades, and any other way means you're a poopyhead.

Living in Denver, you have mountains in your backyard. No mountains in Boston so I had to make my own, one truckload at a time. Took me 60 years but I have a great cup of coffee every day now.

Exactly. Thats why I pay $100 and put in 65 hours of labor annually for 7 home grown tomatoes.

But we were happier then ,,,,

I quit drinking coffee for over a year - I like the flavor of tea better. Recently I started drinking coffee in the morning only. I like Peets too. I can't see spending big money on coffee.

For a twist - I like Greek coffee -Metrio on occasions. That will wire you up.

I make bullet coffee 3-5 times a week. I brew directly into my nutra-bullet with the butter and MCT. The nutra-bullet makes the coffee really foamy and it's like drinking a latte.

The best stuff supposedly is pooped out of a ferret's butt or something...how does "that schit" get started... I'm sure it's an acquired taste .

Tastes like coffee to me, just really smooth.
