A lot of the GT3 guys have to do a drive scenario like you are mentioning Thom.

Reminds me of the writings of The Maestro, the late great Harry Pellow of 356/912 engine fame in California.....he'd do everything he could to make his old Mercedes run really bad such as install fouled plugs, dirty air filter, you name it, the nastier it was for the *first* smog inspection, the better. Of course he would fail. Then he would go home and put new plugs, new air filter, the whole nine yards and try again. That was in the days that if you failed the first time, but improved by some minor margin the second test, they would pass you!
