I never played soccer and my experience with rugby was the post-game club rugby parties in college....'cause my scrawny azz wasn't about to mix it up with first rate true college "football" players....bigger, faster, stronger...I learned a lot in college...yes I did .

There are 2 assistant refs who are each responsible for half of the field. They will track up and down their half of the field on opposite sidelines and try to stay even with the ball

The 4th official manages substitutions and re-entry of players taken off for evaluation of an injury.

Thankyou but I'm aware of that. I know the side judges can also advise the center ref but it must be clear by now that the center ref just can't see everything. Heck the high boot to Morgans shoulder had to go to VAR in order to be called.

But imagine how much better the calls would be if there were two center refs, each on one diagonal and switching diagonals at halftime.
