HOW DUMB ARE PEOPLE?????????
wait, don't Answer that. It's only June of 2019, and already TSA at airports across the USA have already found nearly 2000, yes THOUSAND, loaded hand guns, ammo, clips, and such....... What Rock do they Live under? and they breed. and Vote. SEATAC, Wash. - A man is under arrest after screeners discovered a loaded handgun in his carry-on bag as he passed through the security checkpoint Monday morning at Sea-Tac Airport, Transportation Security Administration officials said. It was the sixth firearm found by screeners so far this month at Sea-Tac. The firearm, a Ruger .357 caliber compact revolver, was discovered around 6:45 a.m. Monday during the routine screening of carry-on luggage in the security checkpoint, the officials said. TSA screeners immediately notified the Port of Seattle police about the handgun and they responded. The traveler, who had been booked on a flight to Orlando International Airport in Florida, was questioned and his gun was confiscated. He was was then arrested on an unspecified state charge. The man also faces a civil penalty of up to $13,333 and loss of expedited TSA pre-check privileges for a period of time. TSA officials said the Monday’s firearm discovery in carry-on luggage was the sixth incident this month: On June 1, TSA officers discovered two firearms: an unloaded .22 caliber Derringer firearm and a.25 caliber Beretta 21A Bobcat loaded with nine rounds of ammunition. On June 7, TSA detected a .45 caliber Kimber Ultra Carry firearm loaded with seven rounds. On June 9, a .40 caliber Sig Sauer P226 Elite pistol was discovered loaded with 18 rounds. On June 13, TSA officers discovered a loaded 9mm Glock loaded with four rounds of ammunition. The six firearm finds in June bring the total number of firearms discovered by TSA at Sea-Tac Airport in 2019 to 29. Of those guns, 24 were loaded. Nationwide, TSA officers have discovered 1,962 firearms in carry-on luggage so far this year with 1,716 of those loaded with at least one round of ammunition. Firearms can be transported on a commercial aircraft only if they are unloaded, packed in a locked, hard-sided case and placed in checked baggage. Ammunition and firearm parts, including firearm frames, receivers, clips and magazines are also prohibited in carry-on baggage and must be checked. 2 Any type of replica firearm also is prohibited in carry-on baggage and must be transported in checked luggage. Air travelers with questions about what they can bring through security in carry-ons can use the “Can I Bring?” feature on the TSA mobile app, myTSA, or visit the TSA website here >> https://komonews.com/news/local/loaded-gun-found-in-mans-carry-on-at-sea-tac-bringing-june-total-so-far-to-6

My wish is that they destroy all confiscated weapons instead of auctioning them off.

I have a retired friend who used to carry a handgun aboard commercial planes all the time. (Retired pilot authorized to do so...but he couldn't carry a little pen knife I gave him...regulations.)

As far as destroying them, that's just wasteful and vindictive. If there is money to be made, offsetting some of their costs, I see nothing wrong with auctioning them off to legal, law abiding gun owners.

Well, since TSA failed 95% of their tests, that means that...wait a minute, calculating...31.54 million guns actually got through security this year.

I don't understand this one:
"On June 13, TSA officers discovered a loaded 9mm Glock loaded with four rounds of ammunition." Four, why four? Did you go to the range and just not use the rest of that magazine? did you buy two boxes of 50, run through 4 12rd magazines of each and have 4 left and just put those in? Was more than four just too heavy? I get one (chambered, empty mag), -1 (mag full, nothing chambered), 7 (Desert Eagle anyone), but 4??

Banned but not out, yet..

^ yes one of the true imponderables of the universe We need an intelligence committee meeting on this. Not the 4 bullets, but the question about the bullets.
![]() Now back to the original question: Never underestimate the sheer slack jawed stupidity of a high percentage of the population. Reminds me of the late Sam Kinison whose angry girl friend packed a loaded handgun (aka spoon) in his carryon to get even with him. Evidently it worked very well back in the early days of TSA.

As someone who carries and travels frequently, I’ve caught myself getting out of the car, grabbing my luggage and heading toward the terminal with my Ruger 9mm still holstered. Thankfully, ive always noticed it before being a few steps from the car and avoided embarrassment...and jail time. I could see how it could happen though. But, packed in your luggage? Nope.
Makes you wonder how many have not been caught.

No, it doesn't. The tests are designed by experts in TSA processes/equipment to make them fail. It should just assure you how rigorous the testing is. It is probably why TSA has had a 100% (perfect) record against real terrorists for almost two decades.

That was the entire post. Is there something I missed? It seemed you were impugning the TSA's effectiveness at stopping terrorists attacks aboard our nation transportation systems. Was it supposed to be in green (a joke)?

Maybe we should destroy all cars confiscated from drug dealers. Cars kill more people than guns do. It's the object, never the person controlling the object.

Um...maybe the fact that I claimed that 2000 guns was 5 percent of 31.54 million guns. Maybe.
