I started a thread that seems to have devolved into that sort of irrational stupidity so I bowed out. My bad. Sometimes I miss our moderators....

I read the helmet thread and didn't see anything political or religious. What are you talking about?

it only takes one "Beetlejuice" equivalent anymore.

If it is not...I am worried. It could be more like many (including neighboring) countries...where speech is not free and people cannot allow anyone to disagree about contentious issues.

Here in Pelican world folks are allowed to disagree about whatever they want to, and go on for pages and pages of disagreement.

We even have a special place for that.

It's not PPOT.

It's not the issues that bother them, it's the contentiousness.

They want an never-ending kumbya moment here. Like a woman who asks, do these pants make my ass look big? If you provide truth they take it as a personal attack.

I've only posted a couple of times on PARF, because I don't see contributing to discussions that devolve into the crap you see there. Generally I don't post anything if I don't have something fairly neutral and informative to contribute. I think my post count for nineteen years reflects that. Also I think if others would just ignore and quit/not post in discussions that go south, they would atrophy and die in a timely way.
