The P-8 was a huge mistake.
The Navy can't do ASW from 25k feet, or higher. The P-3 was a beast and was down in the mix were it belonged. |

Back in 78/79 was a Navy tower controller at Navy El Centro for 2 years.
During the BA winter practice months it was always stunning to watch the A4 solos take off twice a day. One would do a dirty barrel roll and the other a clean barrel roll at 200 feet before the end of the runway. |
I looked for clean and dirty rolls. Not a common subject. Can you explain? One video shows wheels down until he finished. I thought that was weird, but I don't fly...
...at all. I see well over 200 planes a day over my house so I hate the things. It didn't used to be that way until other local FBO's closed their doors because of local new laws about noise and air pollution. They all came here. But I digress. |
Clean: gear and flaps up. "Aerodynamically clean"
Dirty= landing configuration: gear and flaps down. |
Makes sense.

LtCol Bob Pardo 1934-2023
If you are not familiar with “Pardo’s Push” it is a remarkable example of on the spot innovation and dedication to your wingman during war. RIP

I have had this Portfolio of Eastern Airlines Aircraft since I was a little kid. I found it again today and asked my Mom about it and she said there was a family named Wilson that we knew and they had a son who was an executive with Eastern Airlines at the airport in Atlanta and that he had given the portfolio to my Dad and Dad had given it to me. I don't know how I have kept up with this stuff all these years. I have seen some of these online and they all seem to have a booklet included but mine never had a booklet, only the prints. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7e9e7cf934.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...416b7f1971.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8622a817bc.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3e2e2a788e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8b7d301b29.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2fe4baa9ee.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2124104b39.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d17b877837.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7f22307993.jpg
