Tis a wonder that helicopter did not come apart after hitting the blades, mast bump and all? . Perhaps the fuel thing is designed to take a whack?

Fully articulated rotor head and rotor attachment. No mast bump possible.

48 hours flown since July 13th. Time for an oil n filter change followed by a spark plug check.

Waiting for the Long-EZ cowling to come back from American Striping from paint removal via plastic media. They remove paint from CDF Bomber wings with the same stuff. He can take it down to just the filler primer and not the glass.

Test run on the battery cover

Those things take up a lot of real-estate.

^^nice H.D. aerial picks.

Drained the oil and replaced with fresh W100+ and a new filter, also pulled the plugs on the O-200. Will clean, check gaps, rotate then reinstall.

Some oil goobers on a couple of the lower plugs. High time motor sitting at around 1650 hours of a 1800 TBO Continental O-200.

After some work on cleaning them up. This is also where having a good relationship with your dentist pays dividends..... you get some non serviceable “real” dental tools for work like this.

Quick oil pressure pick-up(5-10 seconds) and good oil temp, well, after it warmed up a bit.

No obvious oil leaks and everything looks “OK”.

My brother and I were going through a box of old photos from our grandmother and found this. It was taken near Vero Beach, Florida after the plane went down in a storm. She wrote on the back of the picture that "13 passengers all injured but saved." By looking up the tail number, the records indicate that there were no fatalities among the 16 people on board the DC-3B.

What.......no “whites” are visible in the surf line. In all seriousness, did you see any juvenile G-Whites poking around off shore?

Nice picks and I dig the fact of Mr. Hoover’s Jet Center. That’s awesome!

Pic from my Biplane Race Team Crew Days. I’m the one with the cheesy grin. The pilot’s dad of the biplane was holding down the other side of the tail.

Brisk Reno morning with added prop wash. His dad wasn’t too keen on the idea. Me, on the other hand, was loving it.

Dragged out some more photos from my early flying experiences. In 1958, my mom, two brothers and I flew from Oakland to Okinawa on a Constellation. Here we are hanging out with some other folks at the gate in Honolulu to get back aboard after a breakfast and refueling stop. I am the littlest guy.

We stopped at Wake Island for lunch and more fuel.

No photos at Guam because it was dark by the time we got there.

My relatives were on this Otter. They got very lucky...

Just watched Mike's video on YouTube. Glad everyone is OK, but so sad to see Draco all balled up.

I hope he puts it back together.

Very high crosswind component and a less familiar airport. Just saw him at Airventure.
