(Japan and the Pacific Theater was my first guess/recall but a brief search indicated otherwise so I changed it. Thx for the link.)
Those A6M Zeke/Zeros still had a couple of 20mm cannons in addition to the rifle ammo. Just not enough. |
While living on Guam in the mid 1960s, our house in Agaņa was right below the approach to the Naval Air Station. I spent a lot of time taking photos of whatever flew over the house. Here is a Navy C121.

Douglas A3 Skywarrior. (AKA:Whale) Taken from my back yard on Guam. They would do touch and goes all evening. A big distraction while trying to do my homework in 8th and 9th grades.
