Love the Cap-10b. Took a 10 hr acro class with Daniel and Montaine from The French Connection in their Cap-10. This was just prior to their tragic crash. Great people and great airplane.

Location: Placerville, CA.... You know, the only place on Highway 50 between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe the you find signal lights. Above the fog most of the time and I can see the stars of the Milky Way 8 out of 10 nights. Kinda cool.....

Looks like it will be a good showing this year, being the last RENO Air Race. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Another tragic Osprey accident. Something is obviously wrong with the design, crew training, or maintenance it would seem. What else could it be?
"The V-22 Osprey has had 15 hull loss accidents that have resulted in a total of 54 fatalities. During testing from 1991 to 2000, there were four crashes resulting in 30 fatalities. Since becoming operational in 2007, the V-22 has had ten crashes, including two combat-zone crashes, and several other accidents and incidents that resulted in a total of 24 fatalities."

Ouch.
I’ll wait for the accident report, but I agree.

I hope Bell is able to sort out the issues and they’re not inherent to the design. The US Army’s replacement for the UH60 Blackhawk is a tilt rotor, they’ll be buying thousands of them. Personally I think Sikorsky should have won the bid with their offering.

Highlights of our little local Skyfest show were the B-17, B-25 and a P-51
My Dad was a photographer in WW2, his perch and camera were in the glass nose of a B-17. Lots of recon and bomb test photos... what a view he had! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Surprised to find out the best flying replica of the Spirit of St Louis is here in a local hanger.
They measured and documented every thing possible when the Smithsonian had the real deal on the ground and even found a pair of pliers under a floor board looking around with a borescope... safety wired it where they could get to it. Turns out the fuel tank valves are difficult to turn by hand while airborne. And- it's for sale! Owner/builder said insurance alone for a flight was 70K... the fact you have to look through a periscope to see forward made me decide against buying it ![]() She's a beauty! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hint #3
I guess there are not many Steve Canyon Fans, I just found the series on ROKU TV. I like seeing all the F-102 in the opening scene. |
