This is a possibility, Jeff. We have a fair number of ar cooled 911s up here driven by former track guys. Not sure what Pacific costs on a weekday, but it might be feasible. Another possibility is to work with a group like Turn 2 (local trackday guys) to stage the event as a sub-part of one of their events.

I'd run my old 911 at such event, just for the honor of getting in your way!

We had a nice air cooled only track day before this years Hill Country Rally. It was on a Thursday so cost was very reasonable and just about all the track time you could stand. Granted this was a small country club track more suited to a Miata with lots of suspension travel than a torsion bar Porsche but fun none the less.

That would be fun. I love running with Tom's Turn 2 group at The Ridge, and do so as often as possible. They get a much broader mix of cars. Lots of slow guys like us, in cars like BRZ's, Miatas, older M3's, and the like. Very low key program. Kind of a journey down to The Ridge, especially on weekdays, which is all Turn 2 seems to get. Traffic is a killer, especially getting home.

But think of how mellow you’ll be for the drive home after leaving your adrenaline on the race track.

Aren't you retired :-) journey, smurney, spend the night (or two) in lovely Shelton!

I just got an email from our track chair with a link to photos from the "official" photographer. I thought some were pretty cool, so I bought a couple. I thought I might share one of the better ones. Here I am exiting turn 3A, a downhill second gear right hander, with a short chute to 3B, a downhill second gear left hander. I can carry the right front all the way to the braking zone for 3B, which I get to right as I hit the rev limiter in second (7,300 rpm). The red BMW M-something behind me just caught up, and is about to suck me into its grill.
