You should make it an emergency. Go to a good ER and hopefully you'll meet a good doc who wants to help. Wound needs to be revised and closed properly.

I kind of think this is the way I would go too, even though it's a different kind of rolling the dice. First surgeon's practice doesn't seem to have any integrity, if the were willing to risk bodily harm to your family to avoid doing the revision.

Roll the dice again? The first surgeon is highly regarded, great reputation, etc. so we should pin our hopes on whomever is working the ER?
In the end it turned into an emergency of sorts. During the re-do of the skin issue the doc discovered an internal stitch that had not dissolved. It was deeper work than he wanted to do in an exam room. He had to take her to a sterile OR to dig in and take out the stitch. Much drama and gnashing of teeth. Poor MrsWD is pissed off, but optimistic.
