Back in a Porsche
This weekend I picked up a 2001 Boxster S, so I’m officially a Porsche owner again. Bought it from the second owner of 15 years who was pretty emotional to see it go, with a hip and knee replacement he was having a hard time driving it anymore. It’s Lapis Blue over Savannah Beige full leather with a TPC supercharger installed by TPC, SSR forged wheels, and some really tacky stick on wood grain that I’ve already removed.;) Metrapol Blue top and it includes a color matched hard top. Only 50k and in really good shape overall, it needs a really deep detail and some maintenance and should make a fun driver.

|
Awesome Matt! Ya still need a Carrera tho' ;)....
|
It looks sweet. I'm glad you removed the wood grain bits.
|
Nice!
Did you see my thread on removing small bits of rust - I need to pick your brain on that and detailing. Best! |

Nice!
Waiting for 964s and 993s to come back into orbit. The looming recession might get it done. Quote:

Where does one put stick on wood grain in a Boxster? I can't imagine. Details on the 'supercharger'?
|
Very nice!
|
Looks good!
And I'm sure you'll have it looking even better in short order. |

The supercharger is an Eaton M62, it’s mounted low on the passenger side near the exhaust manifold. I haven’t really torn into things to see the details of the install. I know it also has a piggyback fuel computer and a seventh injector. It’s about 4.5 psi so while you can tell a difference it’s not a ONG experience either. I’d call performance similar to a 996 if not slightly faster. So no slouch. |

I agree. I agree also that the Boxsters are great |
I have to say that Lapis Blue is amazing in person.
|
Dibs... when Matt releases it back into the wild in 6 months. I kid I kid!
Very nice ride! Seriously Matt, PM me when ready to sell :) |
I usually put my right leg in first, but I guess you could back in...
|
Oh Good Lord! That Lapis Blue, silver wheels, tan leather interior and red calipers make me feel all tingly just looking at it. Very beautiful !!! Exquisite !! Bravo !!!
|
Matt, NICE score my friend!
|
Very nice. Love the color.
|
Looking good! I like blue as well....
|
Very nice!
|
Wow, that's a nice looking car, Matt. That blue is pretty
|
Curious to see what you think of the TPC racing kit. I’ve always heard mixed reviews of them, but I think it was mostly on the tuning.
|
Stunning, Matt. Gorgeous color. A G-body 911 driver who is very talented can only hope to barely keep up with Boxsters. Maybe. Boxster S...no.
Enjoy. |

Wow, if only I had money burning a hole in my pocket and a place to put that. 3.4L? I thought they were 3.2L until somewhere in the 987.1 period, then they got upgraded to 3.4L. |
Nice floor!

Beautiful car, Matt.
I've wondered what it would be like to own and drive a Boxster. Considering none of my 3 Porsches have air conditioning - and I live in Florida - that alone makes the idea attractive. To get an example as nice as your is at only $15.5K is very very tempting. But alas....I'm getting ready to re-roof my home so that pretty much trumps everything as far as priorities. GLWS! |
Jesus, Edith... :)

Nice Boxster. Probably not the best time of year to sell one in the midwest, though...
I never had to buy one to know that they're not for me. |
What’s replacing it?
